How was the... Alpine? Is that what the last one is?

100% 80s. It was my favorite out of all of them. Way smoother then it had any right to be and very fast.

A 500 Abarth? Is that in the lane?
![]() 11/18/2017 at 13:37 |

It’s usually in the basement or in the other location but yup.

I wouldn’t have thought it was note worthy/rare enough.
(Sorry 500 owners/Sergio)

How’s the green Evora compare to the MGB in terms of feedback through the steering/seat/shifter?
I used to drive a ‘65 MG Midget and it completely spoiled modern cars for me. The manual steering and communicative suspension were just sublime. I now drive my ‘91 MR2 and it’s just as good as the MG, but I haven’t been able to find a modern car that’s similarly immersive. It seems that anything after 2006 is squishy and isolated. Wondering if the Lotus has the good “driver’s car” intangibles or if it’s numb too.

The Evora felt like driving Lexus with a bit stiffer suspension and manual.

I think it was part of a 500 exhibit and they kept it.

Renault Sport Spyder AND a Renault Alpine V6, I’ve reached peak jelly.

The Alpine was amazing. The Spyser was almost to mechanical to drive one the street. It need to be driven way harder then I was driving it for it to work properly

The 500 Abarth was my gateway drug into car enthusiasm, when I learned to drive manual on one a couple of years ago.
The silly straight-pipe exhaust (factory) and the light weight. The total mismatch between the sound and the look of the car. There was no going back.
Sergio’s mistake is that he doesn’t Abarth more of the things. We say Hellcat all the things, but really it’s the Abarth philosophy that’s more fun. You hear the deafening burbly exhaust, and then around the corner comes... a little cutesy hatchback. It never got old, at least in the time I was driving one.

On a scale of IS F to LX 570, how Lexus was it?

It’s amazing how well the exterior styling of the sport spyder holds up 20 years on.

2CV!!! Honda N-One!!! Renault Spyder!!! Dream cars! :D
How was the 2CV? :)

which one was your favorite? which one drove the best?
![]() 11/18/2017 at 16:05 |
|
The Lotus drove wonderfully but the Alpine was my favorite. The 2CV was so... French.
![]() 11/18/2017 at 16:06 |

The 2CV was kind of scary. The pedal box was tiny, the shifter was weird, and it was slow, but wow was it comfy.
![]() 11/18/2017 at 16:15 |

I love it anyway....I’m not a big guy and my feet are small, so I wouldn’t find it too bad I bet :P
How was the N-One???
![]() 11/18/2017 at 16:26 |
|
The N1 was everything a car that size shouldn’t be. Super comfy, outright quick for a .66 liter engineer, handled bumps well, and could see almost everywhere.

Why is there a French car with an ad for a German car dealer and Tenessee plates?
![]() 11/20/2017 at 09:13 |
|
It’s no t a German dealer, its actually a Voisi n 4x4 2CV. Basically a stock 2CV with 4x4 added by a French engineer. Tennessee plates are again, because it’s another one of the weird cars at the Lane. Have you ever shifted a 2CV?

Wait, you’re comparing a Lotus to a Lexus? Is that just relative to the MG, or is it really that comfortable?
![]() 11/20/2017 at 09:33 |

Curly fries or waffle fries?
![]() 11/20/2017 at 09:33 |

I think it was more of a relative thing. The MG was the last car I drove but I Reanult Spyder before that sooo... yeah the lotus felt very refined.

Chick Fil-A Waffle Fries>Curly Fries>Waffle Fries

I was actually refering to the spyder.
Wait, this was a 4x4 2CV? How cool is that?
Shifting a 2CV is... Approximative :)

Ohhhhh haha. The Spyder is on loan from someone. I’ll have to get a better backstory next time I’m there.

The 500 was obviously the best car there

The best car to burn to the ground for sure.

how awesome are the Renault & Alpine?
![]() 11/21/2017 at 07:53 |
|
The Spyder was very difficult but I learned after my driving that it likes and needs to be pushed hard to work properly. I drove it like a grandma. The Alpine was the most wonderfully 80s thing ever. It was also wonderful to take off in. The gear shifts were easy the Turbo made fun Turbo noises.
![]() 12/02/2017 at 00:48 |

So jealous, mainly because of the Alpine. I’m partial to the blue one, but driving either one would be super cool.
![]() 12/02/2017 at 01:52 |

Which blue one?
![]() 12/03/2017 at 16:57 |

Isn’t there a later blue GTA that’s lower and has BBS-ish wheels?
![]() 12/03/2017 at 17:30 |

THis is the only blue Renault I could find.

Okay... I think I might be losing it. Just looked thru all 311 pics I have from all 6 or 7 times I’ve been and not a single blue GTA, my b.
